In 2013 something terrible happened in Bangladesh: Rana Plaza collapsed. Who was Rana Plaza, or rather, what was it? This building housed some very famous fast fashion brands big and small. The collapse was a disaster that was widely reported in media around the world.
And it clearly showed that the working conditions in the clothing industry are much more than a serious issue. It's a pitch black dirty hole that needs cleaning up and new answers and new solutions from EVERYONE working in this industry: from designers to consumers to factory owners, suppliers or the brands themselves!
The common goal must be: MORE TRANSPARENCY IN THE CLOTHING INDUSTRY, ESPECIALLY IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY!
That was the moment FASHION REVOLUTION was born. The goal of the non-profit organization: The fashion industry has to change - and hugely so.
But before such a change can happen, people/customers need to know things like:
- Who actually makes the products I buy?
- How are the working conditions?
- Who is behind a brand?
- How are people treated there?
- How important are the environment, fair trade materials and so on to them, really?
- And what do human rights organizations tell us about them?
To receive and give all these answers, the non-profit organization created a significant tool: the hashtag #WhoMadeMyClothes was born and became the symbol of Fashion Revolution 's struggle .
With this hashtag, they started asking brands directly about their practices.
The good thing about it: This hashtag quickly spread around the world and is still used constantly today to inform people: Think about what you wear and where it comes from!
We at Nuffinz are also more than aware of the problems caused by fast fashion around the world. That's why we're part of the #WhoMadeMyClothes movement .
We're also very proud of it and happy to tell you where our fabrics come from, who our supplier is and why we're interested in working towards a clean, safe, fair, transparent and accountable fashion industry.

“ We believe in a global fashion industry that protects and restores the environment and puts people ahead of growth and profit”.
Now it's your turn! Use the hashtag #WhoMadeMyClothes and question your brand about labor conditions, human rights or whatever is on your mind!
